Back to the Basics

In the sixth chapter of the book of Proverbs, we are reminded to give heed to what our parents taught us when we were young. If we live with these principles, we will probably turn out okay. It reminds me of Robert Fulghum’s bestseller, “All I Really Needed to Know I Learned in Kindergarten”. Sadly, as we get older and find out how cruel others can be, we tend to let some of the basics slip away and we start living with different principles, worldly principles, self-centered ones. Do you ever find yourself doing things that you know are not the right thing to do, and you hear the voice of your mother in your head? Don’t ignore it. We are not going to see the world without problems or evil people, but you and I don’t have to be one of them. We can make the world a better place by remembering some of the basic principles that we were taught when we were very young.
